About Us

Hi, my name is Melania. Some of you may already know me from my previous project, as a director and owner of English, Please! Srl, which was an English language school in Cagliari, Sardinia.

I am extremely passionate about teaching English. I’ve worked as a teacher and as an examiner since I first came (back) to Italy in 2006. Initially, I taught in a language school and businesses throughout Lombardy. Then, I moved to beautiful Sardinia and started running my own school, together with my husband, John.

I’m extremely passionate about teaching and learning, and there are 2 important aspects to consider before you decide to subscribe to my lessons.

  • I care. I expect you to care too. I care about students, I care about learning, and I care about your success and wellbeing. If I see you going against your own best interests, I won’t be pleased.

  • Learning takes time. I know there are teachers and schools out there that promise results in no time and with minimal effort. The reality is that learning by rote and repeating memorised rules and dialogues may well take only a short time. That is different from gaining an understanding of the language, which allows you to communicate effectively in real-time situations - that takes longer.

    So, my credentials:

  • BA in economics, politics and public policy from Goldsmiths’ College, University of London

  • Ma in Gender Studies from Leeds University.

  • Cambridge CELTA (qualification for teaching English as a foreign language)

  • Specialisation in teaching students with specific learning difficulties, such as Dyslexia.

  • Specialisation in teaching CLIL methodology to school teachers (vocational training)

  • Preparing students (young learners and adults) for Cambridge Exams

  • Cambridge Examiner for young learners, and adults, levels pre-A1, A1, A2, B1, B2
